Solar Signature in Climate Indices

چکیده

The influence of solar/geomagnetic activity on climate variables still remains a fully unclarified problem, although many scientific efforts have been made to better understand it. In order bring more information this open in the present study, we analyze connection between (predictors) and (predictands) by applying elements from theory wavelet transform analysis. solar was highlighted Wolf number geomagnetic quantified aa index. For variables, considered seven Climate Indices (CIs) that atmospheric circulation regional or global scales, such as Greenland-Balkan Oscillation Index (GBOI), North Atlantic (NAOI), Arctic (AO), Multidecadal (AMO), Southern (SOI), Bivariate ENSO Timeseries (BEST) Trans-Niño (TNI). By using difference synergy redundancy, few cases were found where two predictors can be together for CIs’ estimation. Coherence analysis through three both multiple partial analysis, provides time intervals bands periods, used separately. results differ depending predictand, season lags. Significant is brought out together, namely summer season, GBOI NAOI, when taken 2 years before, winter AMO responds variations after 4 years.

First Passage Time Analysis on Climate Indices

Climate variability is simply represented by teleconnection patterns such as the Arctic Oscillation (AO), Antarctic Oscillation (AAO), North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), Pacific–North American pattern (PNA), and Southern Oscillation (SO) with associated indices. Two approaches can be used to predict the indices: forward and backward methods. The forward method is commonly used to predict the ind...
